About us

What is the Making Positive Choices project?

The Choices project provides intensive, one-to-one support to children and young people in Derbyshire who are at risk of harming intimate partners, family members or their peers.

Children and young people who are at risk of harming intimate partners, family members including parents, or friends need tailored intervention and support to change their behaviour.

The aims of the project:

To address and reduce these abusive tendencies at the earliest possible stage
To help these children and young people to make positive life choices
To prevent them from becoming adult perpetrators of Domestic Abuse

Who is delivering the project?

Making Positive Choices is managed and delivered by a consortium of three organisations, who deliver intervention, guidance and support to those individuals referred to the project.

The consortium is made up of three specialist domestic abuse support providers:

  • The Elm Foundation
  • Crossroads Derbyshire
  • Derbyshire WISH Domestic Abuse Services

These organisations work throughout Derbyshire, each one covering a specific geographic area. The project is being delivered in key locations in Derbyshire including: Chesterfield, Staveley, Hope, Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Langley Mill, Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
